Quality assurance
That single structural decision is the whole of our quality story. Inspection sign-off is not made by the people carrying the delivery schedule, which is the only arrangement that survives contact with a tight programme.
The principle
Our quality assurance department is an independent body. It ensures that quality assurance, environment and safety procedures are respected and implemented throughout the entire cycle of the manufacturing process — not sampled at the end of it.
In practice that means the quality team can stop a job. When it does, the correction happens on our own floor, usually within the same week, because production and quality occupy the same building rather than the same email thread.
Testing & examination
The scope applied to your order is set by your specification. These are the methods available at our works, and the ones our records are built around.

Volumetric examination of welds on pipe spools and pressure equipment, revealing internal defects that surface inspection cannot find.

Performed in process by the line inspector during machining, and again at final inspection against the approved drawing.
Skid packages undergo rigorous FAT including hydrostatic testing, electrical checks and instrumentation calibration before despatch.
Third-party inspection can be arranged for pressure equipment. If your specification names a particular inspection agency, tell us at enquiry stage so the cost and the hold points are written into the quotation rather than negotiated afterwards.
Designed in, not inspected in
Most strainer failures are not dramatic. They are a seat that never sealed properly, a cover nobody could lift safely, or a body that rusted because it left the shop unpainted.
Y-strainers are built with precision machined seats. A seat that is nearly right is a bypass path, and bypass defeats the entire purpose of fitting a strainer.
All cast iron and carbon steel units are epoxy painted to resist rust. Ductile iron valve bodies carry an epoxy powder coat on both internal and external surfaces.
Bolted, hinged, clamped, davit lifting device or other lifting arrangements, so removal of large heavy covers is safe and efficient rather than a two-person struggle.
Threaded and socket weld end connections are given hex ends for easy installation, and many models carry gauge taps as a standard feature.
A standard blow-off drain connection extends the interval between cleanings, and on cone-bottom baskets allows clean-out without removing the screen or interrupting flow.
Castings drawn from our own stores with traceability maintained through machining, so PMI results and material certificates line up with the item on your dock.
Records
Documentation is part of the product. An item that arrives without its records creates work for your QA team and delays your own handover, so ours goes out complete.
If your project requires a specific documentation format, dossier structure or numbering convention, send it with the enquiry rather than after the order — retrofitting a dossier is the slowest part of any handover.
